Set in an 18th-century coaching inn on the site of an ancient Roman bath, this pub, steeped in history, with rooms is 12 minutes’ walk from York train station.

Rooms feature en suite bathrooms, TVs and tea and coffee making equipment.

There’s a Roman-themed pub with a beer garden offering traditional bar fare, real ales and a Sunday roast, plus frequent live music.

A permanent exhibit features the ruins of a Roman bath from AD 71.
