Oh my Goodness, being a York lass who loves her History, when I got asked to cover this event I was so excited! The week long festival is so famous in York and people come from far and wide to join in or watch the events. Organised well in advance by the Jorvik Viking Centre Team it is a treat for all. From Battles, to watching a show to visiting the Encampment (my personal favourite) plus loads more you are taken back in time. The Knowledge of 'The Vikings' is outstanding - a real life history lesson especially for the children who can try on the gear and go to the Bezerka Boot Camp! The Best Day was the Saturday where hundreds of Re - enactors came to the city to march from The York Minster to The Eye of York.
Thank you to The Jorvik Viking Centre and once tickets are on sale for 2025 I am there and will let you know! I have promised to wear the clobber on the Saturday too! for anyone who knows me this is probably the easiest yes ever!
