Virtual Mindfest York 2020

Background

Mindfest are hosting their free annual music festival, Mindfest York, online between 25th – 27th September 2020.

For 2020, they are going virtual so you can enjoy the music from the comfort of your own home!

Between 5pm – 9pm every night, you can watch 4 – 5 local artists performing via livestream directly from the York Mind Facebook page.

Mindfest York, in conjunction with York Food & Drink Festival, normally happens across 9 individual evenings in the Music Marquee on Parliament Street, featuring fantastic local live bands, musicians and performers to accompany the wide range of food and drink stalls on offer.

The Food & Drink Festival is going ahead this year, but is a smaller and COVID-safe event, between 25th – 27th September. So, if you’re going for the full 2020 experience, you can still head to Parliament Street to pick up some tasty take-home treats during the day, then enjoy whilst watching Mindfest York from home!

How do I watch?

All performances will be streamed or premiered directly online via http://www.facebook.com/MindYork

Cost?

FREE – Donations to York Mind can be made via: http://www.justgiving.com/mindfestyork2020

(This is a fundraising event, so donation links will be available for York Mind throughout the performance, if you’re able to make a contribution – just like you might contribute in one of the blue buckets in the music tent!).

How can I help?

  1. Join the stream and watch the performances – Mindfest would really like as many people to join and watch the live stream as possible, so please pop a reminder in your diary to tune in between 5pm – 9pm next Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Enjoy some time away from the News with the kind-hearted performers (all of whom have volunteered their talents. Legends.)
  2. Spread the word – Please let as many people as you can know about the festival, using your preferred method of sharing! Circulate this email, tell you next door neighbour, you can share our event page on Facebook here or find the official website page here
  3. Donate if you can – This event normally raises between £3000 – £4000 for York Mind every year. Mindfest is super-sad that the can’t be there in person to raise funds as they normally would. If you possibly can, please consider making a donation via the JustGiving page to help bridge this gap for York Mind. Thank you!
