Lord Mayor's Ball Charity Auction

The Rt Hon Lord Mayor of York, the Rev Councillor Chris Cullwick, and the Sheriff of York, Sue Hunter, are hosting their final fund raising event of a hugely successful civic year.

The Lord Mayor's Ball will take place on Sunday 18th May 2024 - and as part of this prestigious event a charity auction of two stunning original signed paintings by local artist, Shany Hagan.

Shany has painted for many charities - and, this year, is nominated for an award for 'Women Changing The World' as she has helped raise thousands of pounds through her painting.

Both of these originals have been donated to the Lord Mayors Charity Appeal for SNAPPY and the York Womens' Counselling Service 

Now, YOU have the chance to bid for one of these fabulous paintings in this special Lord Mayor's Ball Charity Auction.

You can bid here on line, right up to the day of the Ball. The final bids will be taken at the event - but every bid submitted here will be put forward. There is NO RESERVE price on either of these superb paintings - bid whatever you like using the form below!  GOOD LUCK!!

Lot.1 - A signed Painting of Bob Champion with Aldaniti. Aldaniti won the Grand National in 1981 even though he had recovered from an injury – His jockey was Bob Champion who had just recovered from Cancer. It was made into a film. The painting depicts this.

Lot.2 - A signed Painting of Red Arrows- the latest team to be a part of the history of the Royal Air Force. They have done over 5000 displays in 57 countries! This year see their 60th season.
