Pavers announces Community Champion Winners

This past weekend, Pavers hosted a special event to recognise ten remarkable women in celebration of International Women’s Day.

These women were selected for their significant contributions to their communities following a nomination process in-store. The event highlighted the dedication and passion of these individuals, whose efforts have made a real difference in the lives of those around them.

After reviewing their inspiring stories, Pavers is proud to announce that all ten finalists have been named Pavers Community Champions! Each will receive a year’s supply of footwear as a small token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment.

The event celebrated the incredible achievements of local individuals, including Anne McDonald, who coordinates patient transport for cancer treatments in Polmont, and Jenny Tinson, a social prescriber nominated in Bordon who helps patients regain confidence and connect with others. Julie Brady, a dedicated fundraiser and retired nurse, was recognised for raising over £110,000 for local charities, while Lisa Pallister was celebrated for her nurturing care at a special needs school in the West Midlands.

Lynda Corser, who was unable to join us at the event, was honoured for her fundraising efforts for Martin House Children’s Hospice and her work with isolated pensioners. Rachael Scott-Hunter, who was represented by Emily Lacey at the event, was recognised for her advocacy on behalf of families with individuals with profound learning difficulties and her work at Alexandra House of Joy.

Sophie Giraudeau was acknowledged for creating a supportive and uplifting environment through her Rock Choir in Northern Ireland, while Sue Nicholson's tireless work as chair of trustees at Chepstow Mencap and her community initiatives in Chepstow were celebrated.

Theresea Evans was applauded for her community spirit, including her work supporting those affected by flooding and founding ‘Operation Welly,’ which sends care packages to troops. Lastly but not least, Trish Kinsella was praised for her longstanding support of the Rainbow Centre in Scarborough, offering guidance and compassion to those in need.

We want to thank everyone who nominated these incredible women and congratulate all of the winners for their continued contributions to making a positive difference. For more details on all of our finalists, please visit our blog.
