North Yorkshire Police are urgently appealing for information and sightings of a missing girl in York.
Update: 9 August: Enquiries are ongoing to locate Demi. As well as York, Catterick, Harrogate and Scarborough, enquiries are also taking place in Leeds with assistance from West Yorkshire Police. British Transport Police is also supporting the missing person investigation in case Demi has been using the train network to move around. Please continue to report information and possible sightings of Demi as soon as possible.
15-year-old Demi has not been seen or heard from since 11pm on Saturday (3 August 2024) when she went to bed at a relative’s house in the Woodthorpe area.
Her worried family reported her missing at 7am on Sunday after searching in and around York overnight.
Extensive police enquiries are ongoing in the city and checks are taking place at friends’ addresses and locations she likes to visit.
She also has links to the Catterick area and visited Scarborough during the day on Saturday with her family.
To help the search for Demi, the police are asking people to get in touch if they know where she is or have possibly seen a girl matching her description or photograph.
Demi is described as black, slim build, 5ft 2ins tall, and she had reddish-black hair and brown eyes.
At this time, it is not known what clothing she had on when she went missing.
