Web Adventure Park offers businesses a unique opportunity to house their Snook

Make It York

Make It York and The Web Adventure Park are excited to announce a unique opportunity for businesses looking to house their sculpture following the Snooks Auction.

If businesses are interested in owning a Snook sculpture and want to support the worthy cause but do not have the space or means to house them, The Web Adventure Park, a popular destination for family fun and entertainment, has opened its grounds to house the four-and-a-half-foot sculpture.

With over 250,000 annual visitors, this presents an opportunity for businesses to reach thousands of potential customers each day and gain exposure for their brand.

The Snook sculpture will be prominently displayed with each displaying the business’s details and a unique QR code linking directly to their company, allowing park visitors to easily access their products or services - enhancing the business’s visibility and reach to a wider audience.

Janice Dunphy, Managing Director of Web Adventure Park said, “We excitedly bid on one of the Snooks, they do look amazing, and wondered who else would have space to display one, and we guessed – not many! This may be a barrier to many local businesses bidding, and we know many would also want to support St Leonard’s Hospice. We thought why not offer to display other Snooks bought by local companies and allow them to get some publicity at the same time? It would also be fantastic for our customers to see a few Snooks in one location.

We have had family members who were in a hospice for end-of-life care and they are a real blessing for the patients and families, this is why it means so much to try to support them as much as we can. We are adding a QR code on the Snook so any customers wishing to donate to St Leonard’s can easily do so.

The Web is such a fun, family day out that we feel that all our visitors will appreciate the Snooks, whilst being a strong celebration of all things creative in our amazing city. With a background of Role Play Mini Towns, animals, fairground rides and slides, we know that the vibrance of the Snooks will reflect the happy environment that is the Web!”.

The one-of-a-kind charity auction takes place on Thursday 9 May 2024 at York Barbican with auctioneer Derek Matthewson from TV series Bangers and Cash, and host Mad Alice from the award-winning The Bloody Tour of York.

The funds raised will be split between St Leonard’s Hospice, who provide life-changing support for families across York every day, and York Creates Fund, a micro-fund that supports cultural and creative activity in the city.

Online bidding is already underway. You can book your tickets, at only £5, to attend in person, or join the live stream online on the day. When bidding, simply bid your amount and let it be known you want it kept at Web Adventure Park.
