Appeal after man attacked by scooter rider in Holgate, York

Police in York are appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in York.

At around 11.45pm on Saturday 19 August the victim, a local man in his thirties, was walking down Holgate road near the junction with St Paul's church, when a man riding a Tier scooter approached him and physically assaulted him.

The scooter rider is described to be aged around mid 20's, white with medium length brown hair and a goatee beard. He was around 6ft in height and had a slim build. He’s reported to have been wearing a plain white shirt, navy blue shorts and black trainers. He also had yellow sunglasses on his forehead.

North Yorkshire Police are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. In particular, we are appealing for anyone who recognises the description of the man or saw anyone matching the description in the area at the time of the incident, to contact the police.
