Appeal following aggressive incident on Pavement in York

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information about an incident that occurred on Pavement, York city centre.

It happened at around 2pm on Friday 26 July 2024, on Pavement close to the junction with Whip Ma Whop Ma Gate in York and involved an altercation between a male and a female in their 20s.

A woman was sitting on the church wall when she was approached by a man who acted aggressively towards her. We are appealing for any information from members of the public who may have witnessed this incident.

In particular, we are keen to speak with the woman who approached the victim and offered assistance. Your help could be crucial in the police investigation.
