Appeal following assault on York cyclist

We’re appealing for information following an assault on a cyclist that happened at Holgate Road in York.

The incident happened at around 9:40am on Thursday 7 March and involved three men.

The victim, who was riding a yellow bike, was knocked off their bike onto the middle of Holgate Road by a man, before being punched several times in the head. As a result of the assault the cyclist sustained facial and head injuries, and required hospital treatment.

The police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident as it happened at a busy time of day and there were a number of people that stopped to help.
