Assault outside Haxby cafe - did you witness it?

North Yorkshire police are appealing for witnesses to an altercation and assault near to Quinn's wine bar/Sainsbury's car park in Haxby.

It happened at approximately 8.30pm on Saturday 17 August 2024 and involved a man aged in his 60s and a woman in her 20s.

In particular, the police are appealing to a man and woman who shouted across to the couple at the time.

A man has been arrested in relation to the allegation and was released on bail conditions whilst enquiries into the assault continue.
