CCTV appeal following attempted theft in York

North Yorkshire Police have issued a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to following an attempted theft from a supermarket in York.

The incident happened at Sainsburys on Bootham at approximately 11.15pm on Sunday 19 May 2024.

The suspect entered the store and attempted to steal three bottles of wine. On leaving the store he was challenged by a member of the public; he then dropped the wine and left the area.
