Investigation underway on possible hate-related assault at York nightclub

North Yorkshire Police has issued a CCTV image of a man they need to speak to in connection with a suspected hate-related assault at the Kuda nightclub on Clifford Street, York.

The incident happened between 1am and 1.45am on 16 December 2023.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, suffered a split lip and he was taken to York District Hospital by his friends where he was treated and discharged.   

He reported that he believed the assault related to his sexual orientation.

We are requesting help to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify the man in the CCTV image.
