Man arrested after student is assaulted in York

Police are appealing for information after a student needed hospital treatment for facial injuries following an assault.

A man has been arrested following the unprovoked incident, which took place on Saturday (17 February).

The student, a man in his 20s, was attacked on Fulford Road near the junction with Broadway between 8.10pm and 8.30pm.

After being set upon, the victim was taken to hospital by ambulance and remained in hospital for two days.

A man in his 30s has been arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.
