North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information about an assault that occurred on the corner of King Street and Clifford Street in York.
It happened at 8pm on Wednesday 12 February and involved three male suspects who assaulted a stranger in what is believed to be unprovoked attack.
The victim was knocked to the ground before being repeatedly punched. Racist language was aimed at the victim, and the incident is being investigated as a hate crime.
The victim sustained a broken nose and injuries to his jaw that required treatment at York Hospital.
One man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He has been released on bail while our enquiries continue.
