Appeal after an indecent exposure in York.

The Police were called to reports of a man indecently exposing himself in front of a child on a cycle path near to the Post Office sorting office on Leeman Road in York at 6.50pm on Sunday 18 August 2024.

Officers conducted a full search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect, who is believed to have headed towards The Principal Hotel and York City centre.

The suspect is described as a white male between 50-60 years old, approximately 5’11 – 6’0 in height, with a white beard and white hair which was short in a comb over style. He was wearing black glasses, a jacket and dark jeans.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We understand this is an extremely concerning incident and a full investigation is now underway.

“I would urge anyone who saw anything, has relevant CCTV footage, or can assist the investigation in any way, to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote reference number 12240150188”.
