York: Key witness sought in sexual assault investigation

North Yorkshire police are appealing to the man in this image and to anyone who can help identify him to come forward as he may be a vital witness.

The police believe the man may be a key witness to a serious sexual assault near Blossom Street in York.

The offence happened at around 8.30pm Saturday 27 July and involved two men and a woman who went into private premises near Sainsbury’s on Blossom Street.

We must stress that the man in the image is a potential witness that could provide invaluable information that would assist our investigation. He is not being treated as a suspect.
