A BRAND new restaurant in York, based in a former historic school, has revealed its official opening date.

• THE man who took over running the York RAF Association’s annual Battle of Britain Wings Appeal from his wife has died six years to the day after her death.

  Ian Smith, of Stockton Lane, was 81 when he died on Sunday, January 12, six years after his wife Maureen died in 2019 aged 74. He passed away at York Hospital after a short illness.
