A popular pub in York has reopened after a six-figure refurbishment.

The country's largest pub company, the Stonegate Group, confirmed that the Keystones in Monkgate is back after three weeks of closure.

Dating back to 1799, the venue was formerly known as The Bay Horse Hotel. It closed at the beginning of January for the renovations, which included a full redecoration and a new look bar and seating area.

Tayla James, General Manager of the Keystones, said: "These renovations align with Stonegate Group’s commitment to keep improving and innovating, meaning we can give our guests the best possible experience at our pub.
