A WOMAN from York, who is battling cancer for a second time aged just 26, is planning to marry her fiancé ahead of undergoing fresh treatment.

• THE man who took over running the York RAF Association’s annual Battle of Britain Wings Appeal from his wife has died six years to the day after her death.

  Ian Smith, of Stockton Lane, was 81 when he died on Sunday, January 12, six years after his wife Maureen died in 2019 aged 74. He passed away at York Hospital after a short illness.
