Camelia Andrei runs The Gothic Corner in York's Tang Hall - now renamed 'Fang Hall'.
According to Camelia, the hotel offers guests a chance to "enter a new dimension" with two gothic rooms.
She first opened the downstairs room – the Addams Family themed Wednesday’s Family Room – in April 2023.
This was followed by Transylvania House in October of the same year – a room which sleeps four and pays homage to the inspiration for Dracula, Vlad the Impaler, and his native Romanian roots.
Camelia’s love of themed rooms stems back to her time at university where she studied tourism and found a love for quirky hotels.
She said: “Themed accommodations are my passion. I found out about them when I was a student studying tourism in Italy and since then, I always wanted to have a themed hotel.
“I opened my first themed room – a Harry Potter room – in my garage when I converted it into an independent on-suite accommodation. I followed it up with Hocus Pocus then I converted this property into two themed flats.”
The first floor – Wednesday’s Family Room – is a nod to the iconic Addams Family and has two bedrooms: a master suite, created to emulate Morticia and Gomez’s bedroom, and a second room which is (almost) entirely black and white and pays homage to daughter Wednesday Addams.
