Urgent appeal to locate missing York teenager
Update: Missing York boy found safe and well.
Mackenzie has not been seen by his worried family since 10pm on Friday (25 November 2022) when he went to bed.
He wasn’t in the house the following morning and his family have been looking for him prior to reporting him missing to the police on Saturday afternoon.
Police enquiries to find Mackenzie are ongoing and include neighbourhood searches, a trawl of CCTV, checks with hospitals and transport hubs, and liaising with British Transport Police and neighbouring police forces in case he has used public transport to travel away from York.
North Yorkshire Police are hoping this appeal will assist the missing person investigation and help to locate Mackenzie safe and well.
However, fears for his safety are growing as each hour passes as it is believed he has no money and he left home without his mobile phone. There has been no recent activity on his social media accounts.
Mackenzie is described as white, aged 15, 5ft 9in tall, slim well-toned build, short mousy brown hair which is longer on top and shorter at the sides. He has a cut below his nose and top lip.
He is believed to be wearing black River Island trainers and a black sleeveless and hoodless gilet. He may also be wearing a cap.
While it is thought Mackenzie could still be in the York area, with an unconfirmed sighting of him at a shop on Chaloners Road on Sunday afternoon, he has been known to go to Selby and Leeds city centre.
If you can help the missing person appeal in any way, including possible sighting of Mackenzie in recent days, please contact North Yorkshire Police without delay on 101, option 1 and quote reference number 12220209826.
