Scarlet - a film noir about a detective who falls in love with a killer
- is the work of a group of University of York students and the cast features Bhasker Patel, who along with starring in Emmerdale is known for appearing in the 2004 Thunderbirds film as well as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
The Press popped along to meet them while filming was underway at St Deny’s Church in Walmgate, which was chosen as a location as it has some of the oldest stained-glass windows in the city.
Producer, Harry Mitchell, 20, said: "This is our third year production and we had to find the money ourselves from friends and family to make it.
"In the end we managed to crowd fund the film with their help, raising £2,500 altogether and we're also really grateful that Brew York, where I work, put in £400.
"We have a fantastic cast and crew with Jordan Turner playing Detective Rivers; Kirsty Higgins as Evelynn Buchannan; Ben Glover as Detective Westfield; Elsa Bennet as the Scarlet Killer and Bhasker Patel plays a priest.
