• A MAN has been arrested following a police chase through North and East Yorkshire in snow and icy conditions.

  North Yorkshire Police say that as the temperature plummeted to about -10C in some parts of the county on Thursday night (November 22) at about 1.45am a roads policing officer spotted a van parked on a rural road at Flixton near Filey.

• Three young men spent the equivalent of a six-month prison sentence behind bars because they were “nosy” and curious about the summer riots, York Crown Court heard.
