PART of a major road in York is set to go down to one lane for the best part of nine months.

City of York Council says that the south-east bound lane in Piccadilly will close between its junctions with St Deny’s Road and Merchantgate close to Spark:York

York from 8am on Monday, February 3 and ending at 5 on Friday, October 31 (works period).

It's to allow for building works to take place. Additionally, left hand turns from Dennis Street into Piccadilly will be suspended for the works period.
All ‘on-street’ parking on the north-eastern side of Piccadilly between its junctions with Dennis Street and Merchantgate will also be suspended.

An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Merchantgate, Walmgate, St Deny’s Road.
