Two police vans and an ambulance were at the scene of an incident in Pavement in the city centre first thing today (April 9).
All three were parked up outside M&S and opposite The Golden Fleece pub.
One police van remains at the scene, as of 10.05am today (April 9).
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "We were called at 8am this morning with a report from the ambulance service that a man had been found with a head injury on Pavement in York city centre.
