On Thursday (February 13) afternoon and evening locals headed to the city's ancient Guildhall complex to find out more about the York Central regeneration project currently underway behind York Railway Station.
The event organised by developers McLaren Regeneration and Arlington Real Estate saw representatives on hand to answer questions and show people what the future could look like for the 45-hectare site, which is one of the largest city centre brownfield regeneration sites in England.
It was part of an ongoing community engagement programme, following on from City of York Council Holgate Ward Councillor-organised public meetings last October, and previous engagement events held.
On the night Tom Gilman, managing director of McLaren Regeneration and Allan Cook, managing director of Arlington Real Estate, were on hand talking to the public about their plans which will deliver 2,500 homes and one million square feet of offices and retail in the £2 billion project.
