As The Press reported, the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority announced its new-look logo - and revealed that it cost £31,860.
The price tag was met with outrage from some Conservative politicians in York and North Yorkshire, with Kevin Hollinrake MP, Cllr Keane Duncan (North Yorkshire), and Cllr Chris Steward (York), voicing their dismay.
Cllr Duncan - who finished second in the race to be voted York and North Yorkshire's inaugural mayor - described the cost of the logo as "scandalous".
Following Cllr Duncan's comments, a spokesperson for David Skaith said: "Had Cllr Duncan won the election he could’ve done himself proud and designed a logo on MS Paint, however he didn’t. He was happy to sign off North Yorkshire Council’s £400,000 rebrand, so this reeks of hypocrisy.
