The murderer who stole £17,000 from a York shop that gave her a job, is a former nurse with a history of deceit, it can now be revealed.

• THE man who took over running the York RAF Association’s annual Battle of Britain Wings Appeal from his wife has died six years to the day after her death.

  Ian Smith, of Stockton Lane, was 81 when he died on Sunday, January 12, six years after his wife Maureen died in 2019 aged 74. He passed away at York Hospital after a short illness.
