A vehicle involved in a suspected drug deal failed to stop for officers yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, January 8) which “sparked a pursuit”, North Yorkshire Police said.
The force said a passenger fled from the vehicle and was quickly apprehended by officers.
“The vehicle continued at speed, attempting to evade our presence, but our officers were hot on its heels and continued with the pursuit,” a police spokesperson said.
"The driver eventually stopped outside the York Outer Ring Road, where they were detained.
“Following a search of the vehicle a quantity of Class A and Class B drugs, scales, cash and drug paraphernalia were recovered from inside.”
Police said a 33-year-old man from Bromsgrove was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, driving over the drug-drive limit, dangerous driving and possession with intent to supply. He has been released on conditional bail pending further inquiries.
A 35-year-old man from York was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and a 36-year-old man from Grimsby was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs. Both have also been released on bail.
