Free parking in Selby Council car parks on Saturday’s has been announced in the run-up to Christmas.

The district council's car parks will be free all day in Selby on Saturday 3 December, 10 December, 17 and 24 December. This supports local businesses at this busy time of year.

This year over the Christmas period there are no changes to waste and recycling collections for the district’s residents. However, as usual garden waste collections stop over the festive period so there will be no collections from 26 December for two weeks. Garden waste collections will restart from Tuesday 10 January.

The Council’s phone lines, and non-essential services will close on Friday 23 December at 12 noon and reopen at 8.30am on Tuesday 3 January. The Council will focus on providing emergency services for people who need them most in the period between Christmas and New Year. This covers things like emergency housing repairs or homelessness support.  For emergency incidents only the number to call is 01653 600941

The Council’s online services are unaffected and can be accessed 24 hours a day.  Make online payments and find out further information about our services online

Selby and Tadcaster leisure centres will be open as normal on Friday 23 December and closed on 24, 25, 26 and 27 December, reopening on Wednesday 28 December. They will be open until 4pm between Christmas and New Year and closed on 31 December, 1 January, 2 January. They will be open as normal on Tuesday 3 January.
