As previously reported by The Press, weather warnings for rain and snow are in place for York across Saturday, November 23, and Sunday, November 24.
The Met Office said York is expecting "heavy" snow on Saturday morning - as it is expected to first hit at around 6am, and last until 8pm in the evening.
Since yesterdays weather warnings, the Met Office has confirmed to The Press that Storm Bert will be hitting York, as well as coastal areas in the north east.
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dan Holley said: "Storm Bert marks a shift to much milder air and wintry hazards will gradually diminish through the weekend, but heavy snowfall is expected across parts of northern England and Scotland for a time on Saturday, especially over higher ground, and warnings are in place.
