Frank Stones, who succeeded in the 2011 Community Pride Awards, died at the beginning of last month after a short illness.
It has been reported that former Community Pride Sporting Hero Frank Stones has died aged 93.
Frank Stones, who succeeded in the 2011 Community Pride Awards, died at the beginning of last month after a short illness.
Stones' dedication to sport spanned over eight decades. He was a local football referee and a keen cricketer, formerly playing for Alliance, now known as Clifton Alliance , before an ankle injury cut his playing career short.
As well as this, he was the former chairman of the York and District Saturday Cricket League, now known as the York Vale League.
