An impressive medal haul for York City Baths Club at the Yorkshire Swimming Championships

York City Baths Club (YCBC) came away from the recent Yorkshire Swimming Association Championshipswith 47 medals across all age groups, in what was the club’s most successful county championships for years.

Over three weekends of intense competition, held at the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds and Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, YCBC went toe-to-toe with the best swimmers and squads in Yorkshire and came away with 16 gold, 17 silver and 10 bronze medals.

Across 305 swims, YCBC swimmers achieved 232 personal bests, with 101 appearances in finals. 

There were a host of standout YCBC performances across the event, including Megan Mills, who achieved two British Championship / Olympic Trials Qualification Times in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke, and triple gold medalists, Annabel Edwards and Jessica Heaton.

 

YCBC Head Coach, Josh Spencer, said of the event, “It was a fantastic Yorkshire Championships for the whole club and all the swimmers should be incredibly proud of themselves. They’ve trained really hard, and the results show that their work has paid off.”
