York City are delighted to announce the capture of young Scottish winger Kai Kennedy following his departure from Scottish giants Rangers.
The 21-year-old came through the youth set-up at Rangers, before going on to taste senior men’s football for the likes of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Raith Rovers and Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Championship.
Last season, the young 5ft 4in winger spent time at Scottish League One side Falkirk, where he netted 9 goals in 33 appearances for The Bairns.
Having also previously represented Scotland at youth level up to U19 level, he earned a call-up to their U21 set-up in November 2020.
Kennedy becomes the Minstermen’s 16th summer signing and the second of the day, following the earlier arrival of former Hull City and Fleetwood Town midfielder Daniel Batty.
Subject to league and FA approval and international clearance.
