The popular forward is going in to his seventh season with the club.

Since arriving in 2019 after three seasons with Dewsbury Rams, Teanby has made 135 appearances in amber and black, scoring 11 tries.

During that time, he was part of the team that reached the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final at Wembley in 2021, and capped three times for Scotland, featuring in their World Cup campaign against Australia and Fiji.

Head coach, Mark Applegarth is delighted to keep him.

"Jack Teanby is a bit of a club legend now," he said.

"He's a massive player for the club not only on it but off it as well. He’s much loved by the York fans groups as well. I’m really looking forward to working with him again.

"The back end of the year was a tough one in terms of him probably not playing every game he wanted to play. I know he’s responded well to that and he’ll come back bigger, faster, and stronger than ever.

"He’s going to be a massive part of our pack. He’s got some really good punch about him and he’s got some really good impact, so I’m really looking forward to working with him again. I’m really glad he’s signed up."
