Ryan Cooper's men welcomed Retford to North Yorkshire, with the visitors sitting four points and two positions ahead of tenth placed Town.
Retford opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time, before doubling their lead ten minutes after the break. Liam Flanagan slotted a penalty home shortly after Retford's second goal to make it 2-1, before Cal Brook put in a reckless challenge, which led to him receiving a red card and giving away a penalty, which Retford converted.
The tie ended 3-1 to Retford, with Town hoping to bounce back from the defeat as they prepare to take on sixth placed Horbury Town on Saturday.
