The York City FC Men's side secured a vital win at the weekend that could prove instrumental in their survival hopes.

Relegation threatened Dorking travelled to the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday looking to close the gap between themselves and the Minstermen.

However, a strong York performance, with goals from Manny Duku and Ryan Fallowfield, was enough for Dan Gallagher's late strike to only be a consolation, as City triumphed by two goals to one.

Mikey Morton's men remain eighteenth in the league, but are now eight points and three positions clear of the National League relegation zone.

City now face a tough visit to top-of-the-table Wrexham next weekend, and will be hoping to create an even larger gap between themselves and relegation.
