A first half strike from Olly Dyson was cancelled out by Eduino Vaz only eight minutes later, as the game finished 1-1 and went to a penalty shootout. Nathan Thomas, Mitch Hancox, Alex Hust, Dan Pybus and finally Olly Dyson all scored their spot-kicks.

Manager David Webb described Ethan Ross as a colossus, saving Simeon Jackson’s penalty as the Minstermen went on to beat Chelmsford 5-4 on penalties and advance to the fifth round of the cup.
