Tara Moxon, Lisa Parker, Lauren Exley and Agnes Wood will all wear the amber and black of the Valkyrie this season.
Papua New Guinea international, Moxon joins after four years at Leeds Rhinos. The 27-year old also spent time on loan at Huddersfield Giants last year. She was on the bench for the Rhinos in the 2023 Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup final defeat by St.Helens.
Lisa Parker featured nine times last year for the Valkyrie, including in the centres in the Grand Final win over St.Helens. Parker, who usually features in the forwards, was on dual registration with the club from Sheffield Eagles.
Welsh international, Agnes Wood was another player on dual registration last year from Sheffield Eagles. She featured three times for the Valkyrie in 2024. While usually at hooker, she was named in the centres for Wales against England last November.
Lauren Exley has progressed through the RISE programme, and played in the Valkyrie Under 19s. She was named on the bench three times for the Valkyrie, and also featured for Sheffield Eagles in the Championship as part of the link up between the clubs.
York Valkyrie Director of Rugby, Lindsay Anfield said:
“Tara became available in the off season. As a PNG international and a seasoned WSL player for Leeds she brings a real competitive spirit and maturity to the group.
“Lisa was a great addition in the middle of last season, dependable and adaptable. Playing as she did, out of position in a Grand Final was nothing short of remarkable. She will kick on this year and keep improving I’m sure.
“Agnes and Lauren were in and around the squad last year and impressed coaching staff with their attitude and application. It has been great to get them in as regulars now and am sure they will keep developing as the season goes on.”
