York International Women’s Week Call for events now open

Once again individuals and organisations are invited to submit events for York International Women’s Week 2021 (YIWW2021) to mark 8th March, International Women’s Day. The programme will offer online and in-person events from 6th-14th March focussing on the theme of Women in a time of Plague.

The YIWW2021 Coordinating Group welcome applications from York-based individuals and organisations. We encourage events that explore women’s complex lives within the current pandemic, ranging across economic, political, cultural, creative and health issues as relevant locally, nationally and globally. Programmes in previous years have included a rich variety of activities from panel talks to crafting, from histories to well-being, from exhibitions to activism.

Clearly life is very different in the pandemic and we anticipate that most events will be online. This gives us a fantastic opportunity to attract an audience from far afield and create our most diverse programme ever.

The core focus will be on events during the week 6th – 14th March but relevant events either side of those dates will also be considered.

The deadline for submissions is Sunday 10th January 2021. Further details and submission guidelines are available at
