Appeal after man suffers serious facial injuries in York assault

Police in York are appealing for witnesses and information after a man sustained serious facial injuries during an assault.

It happened on Scott Street at 3.20pm on Wednesday 26 April 2023 when a man ran across Scarcroft Road, assaulted a man at the start of Scott Street before running back over Scarcroft Road.

The victim, a man in his 30s, has sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to York District Hospital by Police.

North Yorkshire Police are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The suspect has been described as a stocky male, around 6 ft tall, between 30 – 40 years old and was wearing a black T-shirt at the time of the incident.
