Appeal after collision between a bike and van in York

North Yorkshire Police

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision on Parliament Street in York city centre.

It happened on 22 August at around 10.48am and involved a white Citroen van and a bike ridden by a young male.

They collided on the junction of Parliament Street and Market Street, outside Size shoe store.

The police have obtained CCTV of this incident and we are still trying to identify the cyclist, who we believe was involved in an altercation afterwards that led to the driver being assaulted.

The police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the van or bike prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact the police.

If you were the cyclist, please make contact.

Email Nabiel.galab@northyorkshire if you can help. Alternatively, you can call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC 319.
