The minstermen’s manny duku was able to hit back quickly to make it 2-1 just before the half-time whistle
York City travelled to shrewsbury town on Saturday for their FA Cup first round tie, only to be narrowly defeated by two goals to one.
The shrews gained the advantage only two minutes in, before despatching a penalty on the stroke of half-time.
The minstermen’s manny duku was able to hit back quickly to make it 2-1 just before the half-time whistle, however a goalless second half meant the tie went in favour of the home side.
John Askey’s men will be looking to bounce back quickly when they face the high-flying Boreham Wood away from home on Tuesday.
