More than half of ambulance patients waited 30 minutes or longer to be handed to accident and emergency teams at a York hospital trust in one week, new figures show.
NHS England data shows that 1,087 ambulance handovers were made at the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the week commencing December 23 – and 556 (51.1 per cent) took longer than 30 minutes.

A MAN whose body was found in flood water in North Yorkshire has been identified.
North Yorkshire Police say the body of a man which was recovered on Monday (January 6) from an area of flooding near to Intake Lane in Beal near Selby has been informally identified.

A MAJOR road in York is set to close as works are set to get underway.
City of York Council says that Micklegate will be closed at its junction with Bar Lane from 9am - 8pm on Sunday (January 12) for water supply works to be carried out.

A man who was arrested after a woman in her 40s was found dead in York has been “released with no further action”, police said.
North Yorkshire Police has “ruled out any third-party involvement” in the woman’s death at a home in Tang Hall on Sunday (January 5).
